Welcome to First Class 2009/10.

First Class have been really busy since September. We have been learning so much and we are all coping very well with the longer school day!

In English we are getting on very well with our readers and have just recently started paired reading. This is  great fun and we can pick and choose the books we want to read every week.

In Maths we have been learning about 2 d shapes and have made beautiful pictures using triangles, squares, rectangles and circles.

In Irish we are learning all about food and have just recently learned a poem about 'Mo Mhadra'!

In History we are learning about Christopher Columbas and in art we are making beautiful ships called the 'Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria'.

We have a furry friend in our classroom called 'Buddy'. He lives in the classroom, but loves going on adventures1 So far, Emily brought Buddy to the library and Kadiatou took him to the cinema. Emily and Kadiatou took a picture of their adventure and wrote a little diary. Buddy had a great time and I know he can not wait to go on more adventures!
