Welcome from the 2nd Class

• We  are learning cursive writing this year and the children are VERY excited by this. It's wonderful to see the great writing happening in our classroom.
• The children are always working hard to earn one of our Awards of the Week, chance tickets, a certificate from John and Individual points. We all like getting rewarded for our efforts!
• We went to a show in Babaró. The show had some great sing along songs that 2nd class really enjoyed.
• We learnt all about the origins of Halloween. The children did excellent projects where they interviewed an older person about Halloween traditions in the past. We explored what traditions and games were played in the past and we played some of them ourselves! We also found out the original story behind the Jack O Lanterns.
• We are keeping a photographic record of our year together and I hope to have these photos up on the website as soon as possible!

• As part of the Green Schools project, 2nd class are going to be investigating and exploring around the theme of Water. We have a Rain Saver that we are going to set up in the next week or so and monitor and  record its performance. We are hoping to promote water for for drinking and to promote water conservation throughout the school.
• We have also begun learning the songs for our Winter Show that we will be performing before Christmas. We are all very excited about the show nd we will be looking for parents to help us with prop and costume making in the coming weeks.
