Welcome from the Student Council

Student Council Educate Together National School.

The children in our school play an active role in all aspects of school life. To this end our student council has been up and running since 2005.

 Our student council ensures that:

·All children have a voice

·All children have a feeling of belonging and know that their thoughts and opinions count.

·Communication within the school between children, staff and management is efficient.

·Ideas from all school groups are listened to to improve our school in any way we can.

Congratulations to our newly elected Student Council representatives for 2009 2010.

 Some of the themes we hope to promote this year include:

·Language of the month,

·Starting a buddy system within the school

·Improving our yard time.

 We also hope to keep in contact with the student council in Carsic with whom we were involved in an exchange programme last year.

We also would aim to liase with other primary school student councils around Ireland.

 Our Student council notice board located on the main corridor contains all agendas for meetings and minutes from meetings as well as other points of information.

 We aim to regularly update our website page and keep you up to date with all the goings on !!

 Allocation of roles and responsibilities within the student council. through discussion and putting themselves forward.

     It was decided that the following representatives would do the following roles:

     Treasurer (s) :     Luka / Amy

     Reporters:      ALL

     Noticeboard responsibilities: Bianca / Eve.

     Yard monitors: Fionn / Rory

  1. Discussion on the operation of student council meetings and class council meetings and how they are to link into each other. Distribution of class council notebooks to each class group.
  1. Agenda for class council meeting next week discussed- Main topic is problems in our school yard.

Next student council meeting: DEC 22nd.
